March 21, 2007 The Lodge takes shape at Monte VistaArt Pulis, Sun Business AdvocateFoundations are in, pool and spa are in place, and the walls are going up on the “Lodge” at Monte Vista Ranch. The building is so named because it is situated on the site of the original lodge of the old guest ranch. The luxury home planned community just north of downtown on highway 89/93 is moving ahead quickly with several of its housing options while continuing to build out the amenities. With much of the first two phases of estates lots sold and some homes now under construction, the company is preparing phase three. At the same time it is continuing with the “Villas” and nearing completion of the plans for its “Cottages” product. When complete, the Lodge will become the community center of the project, complete with pool, spa, exercise room, gathering room, kitchen, and meeting rooms. Outside the grounds will include a remada and grilling area, putting green, tennis court, and plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the views. “We are excited about how the Lodge is taking shape,” said owner/developer Keith Schuck. “It was designed by our architectural designer Bob Bacon, but it is a work in progress as we build. A unique feature will be a large gathering room that will open to the outside world through the strategic use of glass walls that roll up into the ceiling somewhat like garage doors. Like everything we do here, the emphasis is on quality with our selection of materials and construction. “The quality amenities will continue on the grounds outside the building,” continued Schuck. “We will have a beautiful spa and negative-edge pool, fire pit, and a roomy covered patio area for outdoor dining and entertaining. There will be a play area for the kids and grandkids along with a play area for adults.” In addition to the Lodge, Monte Vista is planning its newest residential product, the Cottages. These will be attached and detached 1500 to 2200 square-foot residences that will be situated on a hillside near the Lodge. The buildings will be in a terraced fashion, giving each home a view of the Hassayampa River and mountains. These homes will be priced significantly below the Villas, giving the community several housing options at various price points. They are being designed by Bob Bacon in the traditional western style of the Sales Office and Lodge and will include both two and three bedroom options. “Our idea is to have a home to appeal to the individual or couple wanting a ‘lock it and leave it' lifestyle,” said Sales Broker John Grimes. “With great views and proximity to the Lodge they should be perfect for seasonal residents and those wanting a smaller, lower maintenance housing option.” | |
