Our Vision of QualityWhat was once an escape for cityslickers and Western wannabees is now a haven for people who appreciate a built environment that is carefully designed to blend in with the natural beauty of the Western landscape. At Monte Vista Ranch, the emphasis is on quality; not quantity. In all, fewer than 115 homes will be constructed on the property. And they must all be consistent with a set of Design Guidelines that are designed to preserve the beauty of the land and enhance the long-term value of the homes. |
Monte Vista Ranch is a community of understated elegance, old world values and genuine quality. It is a place where the homes do not intrude on the fragile beauty and tranquility of this unique, high desert setting. This is achieved by blending the colors, textures, and massing of the built environment with that of the terrain and landscape. The style of the architecture as well as the materials used must be appropriate for the area and the climate as well as the history and Western culture of Wickenburg. For variety and interest, a diverse mixture of architectural styles is desired, including Old World, Territorial, Pueblo, Western Ranch, and Southwestern Vernacular. Building envelopes for the estate lots have already been designated and are designed to maximize the views from each lot while protecting the view corridors of neighboring homes. The building envelopes are also designed to preserve trees, prominent cacti, significant boulders, and rock outcroppings. Noted architectural designer Bob Bacon was the inspiration behind the unique look and architectural ambience of Monte Vista Ranch. Bob did the land planning and architectural design for the Monte Vista Ranch Gatehouse, The Lodge and all of the homes in The Ranch Villas and The Ranch Cottages. Bob was named by Phoenix Home and Garden as its 2001 Residential Design Master of the Southwest. |
