While Monte Vista Ranch was a dude ranch, horseback riding was one of the most popular recreational activities for its guests.

Respecting that tradition, an equestrian center is planned adjacent to Monte Vista Ranch which will include boarding stables with individual stalls and a large grazing pasture.

The Equestrian Center will be managed year-round by a manager who will coordinate all activities and services including feeding the horses, cleaning the stalls, organizing trail rides and equestrian events, and arranging veterinarian and farrier services.

Residents of Monte Vista Ranch will have the right to board their horses at the center or may rent horses for themselves and their guests.

Just across the road from Monte Vista Ranch is one of Arizona’s favorite riding trails - the Hassayampa riverbed. This lush, tree-lined river bottom with its clean sandy bottom provides miles of safe riding for riders of all ages and skills. The riverbed can be accessed directly from the equestrian area at Monte Vista Ranch without having to trailer the horses.

Through annual events such as Gold Rush Days and the famous Desert Caballeros Ride, Wickenburg is committed to being a mecca for people who love and live the equestrian lifestyle.
